Vigil at Central Memorial Park in Calgary
In the light of the recent events, terrorist attacks in Canada, Calgary has organized its own vigil for the fallen soldiers. The event was organized by Merle Terlesky at the Central Memorial Park in honour of Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warrent Officer Patrice Vincent who were both killed while unarmed in targeted attacks within a single week.
The vigil began by a prayer done by a well known preacher, Artur Pawlowski. The minister thanked God for the soldiers that serve and protect our country and all of us. He asked God for comfort to the families of the fallen soldiers and thanked those gathered for their compassion and for their heart: “May God bless those who daily risk and sacrifice their lives in the line of duty and may He protect them all, in Jesus name” he concluded.
The prayer was followed by a minute of silence and the singing of the national anthem. Member of Parliament Joan Crokatt then addressed the crowd saying “This is Canada, strong and free, land of the brave, they were the brave who stood for us.” she said. Senator-in-waiting Mike Shaikh spoke and then Member of Parliament Rob Anders addressed the crowd talking about arming soldiers who are off-duty to better protect us. He said: “If we trust them enough to send them to war we should trust them to also carry side arms when they are of duty so they can protect us at all times”.
The vigil ended with an assurance from Riazuddin Ahmed of the Islamic Association of Calgary Northwest “As canadians we are all grieved by what had happened and we all have to make sure that this will not happen again”.
About 150 people came to give their respects to the fallen soldiers during the rally at Central Memorial Park in Calgary, Alta., on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014.
Of course the mainstream media manipulated the story to suit their own propaganda. They purposely opted from the story, both Member of Parliament Rob Anders and minister Artur Pawlowski well known advocates against abortion and homosexuality.
Here are the pictures of what really happened.
