The Personal account of Jesse Rau, the Christian bus driver fired over the controversy surrounding the rainbow sex bus.

Because I love the Lord, people, Canada and Calgary, I spend my personal time doing ministry outreach. Often I have to address the most pressing topics that are relevant to Canadians, which includes opposing this radical sexual ideology that is imposing itself on every citizen. This belief system’s religious symbol is the 6 colored rainbow flag which is, among other things, being heavily promoted for little children.

Children find rainbows to be very fun and adults love the idea of being tolerant. The problem though, is that the ultimate message behind this movement is not fun and tolerance but rather intense views and expressions of sexuality that are starting to be forced on all Canadians. This is why as a Christian and a father, I sometimes speak out publicly in great concern about this topic.

I was instructed clearly upon being hired by the City of Calgary that no employee is to be expressing their personal, controversial beliefs at the work place. I than honoured these boundaries to the best of my abilities throughout my employment, to the extent of embarrassment.

On July 27th 2016 at 6:50 pm after almost 1 year of employment, some people within Calgary Transit took advantage of their position of power by breaking these stated boundaries. They did so by merging a radical sexual Ideology with the work place.

A facebook “friend” had contacted Calgary Transit about my private facebook, by writing vicious lies regarding my views on this rainbow flagged, sexual ideology. They went so far as to suggest that I should be fired.

It had become apparent enough that my personally views in my private life, did not conform to someone in power at my workplace. Instead of acknowledging that this angry complaint had nothing to do with my performance as a Transit Bus Operator, I was questioned and verbally reprimanded for my Facebook post by a supervisor.

It was confided to me with potent clarity, that I must ‘be smart’ and not ‘stupid’ with this issue because I had a uniquely promising future with the City of Calgary but by doing things of this nature, during my own private life, I would ruin that future.

When I got home, I changed my name to a completely false one on Facebook. I removed 1200 friends and than ultimately deactivated my account. I than hid my face when off work while doing street ministry, whenever I would see a supervisor or bus driver go past.

1 month later some people in power at CT, again merged this radical sexual ideology with the work environment, by pressuring this movement upon every transit employee as well as the public.

It was publicly stated that Calgary Transit wanted people to “get on board” with there “roving billboard” which they were personally contributing to be apart of the upcoming sexual festival.

Calgary Transit paid for a ‘rainbow wrapped bus’ with the phrase ‘ride with pride’ on it. $2,000 came directly from taxpayers and $7,000 came from Patterson advertizing who seams to have done this as a favour towards CT’s initiative, due to a 10 year contract coming up.

My pastor Artur Pawlowski and I had plans to spend the day with our families in Drumheller. When Pastor Art became aware of the upcoming presentation of this bus being dedicated towards the promotion of this sexual festival, he decided to speak his concerns to the media first.

He was addressing CTV news when I arrived with my family at his house to go to Drumheller. As a member of his ministry who shares most of his views, I was also approached by the reporter with some questions.

It came out that I was a bus driver with CT and the immediate question the reporter of course had for me was, as a Christian, would I be willing to loose my job for not being willing to drive the sex bus.

I then made a statement as a Christian, in regard to the obvious possibility of me losing my job over this issue.

On the topic of drivers having a personal conviction against driving this bus, Calgary Transits director Doug Morgan stated publicly that “OVERALL service HAS to go out and we WOULD ask HIM to drive the bus.” (Aug 27, 2015 CTV)

This corresponds to every bus driver’s knowledge that drivers can only refuse to drive a bus based on safety issues. This would be especially true for an in service bus full of customers, being relieved on the road by a bus driver. Not to mention the original complication that would come when orchestrating hundreds of busses blocking each other in the garage before going out on the road and a driver refusing to move the rainbow sex one. This is tremendous pressure on the employee to shut his mouth and ‘jump on board’ with this radical sexual movement.

Ever transit driver is also aware that any bus can be selected to be put on any route, at anytime. Doug Morgan publicly affirmed this to also be the case for the rainbow sex bus. (The Canadian Press Posted his public statement)

At Aug 28th 10:25am, my performance partner sprung a call on me when I was at home playing with my kids. He read Calgary Transits code of conduct regarding transit employees not being allowed to speak to the media on work related issues. He than said that the rainbow sex bus would now specifically not be assigned to any of my routes. (August 28th 10:25am) As the supervisor had warned before, I was now singled out, ‘red flagged’ with a ‘stigma’ attached to my name because I took a stand opposing this anti-christian movement.

At work I started to become very nervous at how easily I could be potentially fired for hundreds of various reasons because driving a transit bus is like being in a fishbowl, where every action and word is monitored.

I had felt threatened twice now for being a Christian in this work environment that is for the promotion of an anti-Christian ideology. I feared that not only was my career advancement over but that I could likely be fired before my 1 year probation was completed for some minor or obscure reasons.

I took comfort in the fact that I had an extra ordinary clean record but considered how little issues could easily be put unjustifiably on my file because they had a year worth of video footage of me driving. Every driver is reminded throughout his career that “the cameras see everything.”

On August 30th 1:00 am after my shift, I was asked to meet with a supervisor in the office. Than for the first time in roughly 1 year of employment, I was addressed with a completely false accusation from a member of the public supposedly accusing me of texting while driving. During training we learned clearly that using our phones while driving is the easiest way to be fired. The nature and the timing of the accusation appeared to me to be absurd and suspicious.

Now after talking to the media, my name was suddenly on a document with this false allegation, even though I made it clear that it was not true. I was told that I would have to meet with my performance partner who would than decide if it would go on my personal file. I was also told that if these allegations added up, it would become an issue.

Being confident that I would be released from my job one way or another, I again addressed the media about my position opposing this radical sexual movement which was about to take place in the city. (Monday 31rst 10:30am press conference) Unfortunately, because this extremely controversial topic was merged with my work environment, I inevitable had to speak as a Calgary transit employee.

Calgary Transits director Doug Morgan had made strong public statements about drivers being expected to drive this bus as they would any other bus and so now my language in the media turned from hypothetically this could cost employees their job, to it sounds like it would. This is except for the media controversy likely protecting them.

Besides all this, the point of the matter was always that, an immoral sexual ideology should never have been promoted or pressured by people in power onto employees and customers.

All customers had also been pressured to “jump on board” with this rainbow sex bus or miss it to catch another. There are many members of the public that made social media comments that they also could not morally agree with riding the sex bus. Where is the apology for all those who had to miss their bus?

A supervisor then gave me a slip on Wednesday September 2nd at 11:40am for an appointment to be on Thursday Sept 3rd at 9:00am.

That appointment was then cancelled. I had just opened up a new Facebook page, which was made public for a couple of days. My employer seamed to have decided to comb through it.

Though this is wrong and frightening, my Facebook page was in fact thoroughly studied by my employer with a fine tooth comb and there findings were than presented to me on Wednesday Sept 8th .

This occurred during an official meeting, after I had just driven for the morning rush hour. The interrogation lasted for over 5 hours with a couple washroom breaks and nearly every word recorded on a laptop.

Many of the questions come across very trapping and manipulative but I went along with the meeting in order to save my job. I was even questioned extensively for comments other people made on my Facebook. The good thing was that I had overwhelming opportunity to explain things such as myself being obviously very Anti-Nazi.

When the meeting concluded, the union rep encouraged me to be patient for their decision on the matter because it would take along time for them to analyze all 114 complicated questions given to me.

The very next morning I was called into a meeting where I was fired for multiple reasons that were vague in their validity. One of these reasons for example was them insinuating that I was pro-nazi because I had tried to bring awareness to the frightening evils of fascism through 2 facebook pictures.

Please be warned that if you wish to express historical information about fascism in order to combat future tyranny, you may be accused by people in power that you are the Nazi.

I then updated the media on how my goose which I thought to be cooked had finally been brought out of the oven to be carved up.

I was now finally fired for ultimately standing up for my convictions, by standing against my employer pressuring me to join them in the promotion of a sexual festival wrapped in a rainbow bow for little unexpecting children.

Mat 19:4 Jesus asks “Have you not read that He who made[ them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?”

Rom 1:18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.
