Jesus Lives

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 4:12)

I’ve been encouraged.  My faith, day by day, is exponentially escalating.  Praise God.

I’ve felt God’s nudge toward intercessory prayer over the past few weeks, given the recent challenges specific to Street Church.  The Bible says, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)  God is faithful.  He is the great supplier.

I feel compelled to share with you God’s marvelous work that occurred this past Monday evening in the Chapel at the Centre of Hope.

A new face was with us as we prayed over this ministry, the leaders, the workers, families, the government, and lost souls.  None of us recognized this new fellow.  He introduced himself as Danny.  Danny knew his Scripture.  Danny professed to be a Christ follower since 1980, although he expressed difficulty in his walk with the Lord.  Danny, unaware, was being held captive by a legion of demons – that manifested themselves in a very real way.

I thank God for the body of Christ, for there was a team of 6 Christians along with us.  We witnessed wisdom, discernment, power, and love prevail late this evening.  What an experience.

One by one, by God’s grace through faith and prayer, these demons were released.  We witnessed Danny transition from a towering 6’1’’ frame, cursing, and growling, “I will not let you have him,” to a giggling, soft-spoken, released, gentlemen, professing “Jesus is the Lord of my life”.

As my wife and I left the Chapel with Danny that evening, he crumpled to the floor, weeping, and giving praise to the Father.  Janice and I stayed and continued to minister to him.  He just kept saying, “Keep talking, my Spirit loves it, I’ve never felt so welled with Love”.

Jesus set this captive free.

Only the power of Jesus Christ could perform such a feat.  How blessed are we when we make ourselves available to Him, as empty vessels, to be used for His redemptive purposes in this world.  I’m privileged to be His kid.  I’m thankful that God rescued me 2 years ago.  I’m grateful for my purpose in Him.

I don’t typically write in, but I wanted to send this as an encouragement to you all.  Jesus Christ…lives.  What more encouragement do you need?

In Christ, Jay
