Conroversial pastor in Red Deer for weekend conference
Artur Pawlowski’s conversation with premier has triggered ethics investigation

The controversial pastor whose phone conversation with Premier Danielle Smith has triggered an ethics investigation will be in Red Deer this weekend as part of a conference challenging “woke gender ideology” and “mandated medical interventions.”
Street pastor Artur Pawlowski faces charges of criminal mischief and an offence under Alberta’s Critical Infrastructure Defence Act in connection with last year’s Coutts border blockade over pandemic measures. A judge is expected to deliver a verdict in early May.
Alberta’s ethics commissioner is investigating whether Smith interfered with the administration of justice tied to COVID-19 prosecutions, the premier’s office says.
The probe stems from a phone call Smith had with Pawlowski, in which they discussed his criminal case just weeks before his Feb. 2 trial on pandemic-related charges was set to begin.
Pawlowski is one of nine speakers at the Let the Healing Begin conference organized by B.C.-based Laura-Lynn Ministries and is set to take place at Red Deer Resort and Casino from 1:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
An ad for the event says that in the past three years, there has been an “unprecedented shift in our culture” and people have come to mistrust many institutions.
“We find ourselves confronted by scandalous news portraying good and Godly men and women challenging the woke gender ideology being vilified and even jailed,” says the ad. “We witnessed tragic accounts from our loved ones, friends, and acquaintances of injury and loss because mandated medical interventions or lack of care because of medical discrimination.”
Despite all of this, there is much to be hoped for “because mercy, justice and healing are now in plain site.”
Organizer Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson is a far-right media personality and former People’s Party of Canada candidate in the Red Deer-Lacombe riding in the 2019 federal election, finishing fourth with 3.6 per cent of the vote.
She has campaigned against globalists and mandatory vaccines and called for a return to Judeo-Christian values.
Other guests include a number of doctors who have criticized COVID-19 vaccines amid controversy, including Drs., Bryan Ardis, Bonnie Mallard and Byram Bridle. William Makis will also be in attendance – he wrote a letter to the Canadian Medical Association in October of 2022, titled “Sudden deaths of 80 young Canadian doctors since rollout of COVID-19 vaccines”. His findings have been disputed by a number of organizations, including the Canadian Medical Association.
